DIY Party Circles - Butterfly Party

This butterfly themed invitation has been one of our best sellers in our Etsy Shop to date, so I decided to make coordinating Party Circles to go with the invitation. As I've mentioned before, I LOVE Party Circles because there are just so many uses for them! Check it out:
straw toppers - print out and punch a hole top & bottom
print on sticker paper and put on favor bags
accent your plastic cups
cut coordinating color card stock to wrap around a drink bottle...stick your sticker in the middle
again, cut about a 2x4 piece of card stock, wrap around the napkin/utensils and accent with your butterfly sticker
cupcake toppers!

There are so many more uses for these simple little circles! And what is so nice about the DIY party circles is that they are not too over-whelming of a project to take on for those that may not feel as crafty or have the time, but still want that coordinated look at their party. You don't need to be a "Martha" or have fancy craft supplies either. The materials needed simply depend on the extent of where and how you want to accent your party with the circles. The DIY package in our shop allows you the creativity to print them out as many times as you want!
We'd love to see all the different ways you use the Party Circles at your next event - so please share any photos with us at 3paperdolls@gmail.com

Ice Cream Cupcakes

Want a really easy and fun activity to do with the little ones? Ice Cream Cupcakes.
For my birthday, I brought in "naked" cupcakes to work for my kids to decorate. We were going to use the usual icing, but at the last minute (perhaps a Freudian craving?!) I decided to use ice cream instead. This was a lot of fun for the children to participate in. Picking up the tiny sprinkles (one boy cleverly put every other one in his mouth!) was an excellent fine motor task they surely didn't get tired of. Spraying the whipped cream on top of the cupcake was a definite crowd pleaser and got a lot of smiles as it shot out! And of course, the best part was eating the cupcakes. For some, the sprinkles they painstakingly put on top proved to be a little of a sensory/tactile speed bump in enjoying their creation, but it was good lesson in texture and once they got past them, the ice cream and cake was fully enjoyed.
The teachers also got a nice little mid-morning treat as well :)

100th Day of School

Mj's Kindergarten class just recently celebrated their 100th day of school. I can't believe the year is more than 1/2 over and soon my 5 year old will be in 1st grade!
For his project, the task was to be creative :) and to make something out of 100 objects.
Well, while on one of my many excursions to the craft store, I came across these Magic Nuudles. They looked pretty cool (especially after reading "no-mess") and I knew they'd also be great to use in my classroom as well.
These little "nuudles" were fascinating and tons of fun for all of us! No glue needed. All that was needed was a damp sponge -- dab the "nuudles" onto the sponge and attach it to another "nuudle"...let your creativity do the rest. So easy. The cool part is that the "nuudles" also adhered to paper so Mj was able to make his robot stand up and be 3D.

Filled with thanks

After such a great Valentine/Birthday weekend I've been feeling so thankful for the great friends and family in my life. So, since I have some thank you cards to send out I decided to make some printable thank you note cards to give as a gift to anyone interested. It's recommended to open the pdf files in Adobe Reader (a free download if you don't already have it) and print out on white card stock.
A simple "thank you" can go a long way to brighten someone's day ...

:) enjoy!

Valentine's Day Shortcut

I did not have a lot of time this year to make any treats from scratch for MJ's classmates....but that doesn't mean it had to look like it either...and of course I like to make even easy things difficult.
Anyway, here is what this year's Valentine's Day school treats looked like for my kindergartener:
First, I started with those little brownie bites from Costco...pretty much any grocery carries them.
Next, I melted some chocolate wafers in the microwave then dipped the brownies in the chocolate.
Let it rest on wax paper, pour some sprinkles, and let cool completely.
Last but not least, my favorite addition to ANYTHING: Party Circles/brownie toppers! They just complete the "cute factor" and make me sooooo happy :)
Here are are some photos of the kids partaking in V-day activities of their own:
Hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day!

Valentine Birthday Weekend

Another year has come...here are some photos from my birthday weekend. It was a very last minute, casual, pizza dinner with my besties and it was perfect.

Of course, no matter how small or simple our "celebration" was...I could not resist adding a couple of my favorite Party Circles wherever I could.

Have a Happy Heart's Day!
